India and Olive Oil

I just want to share the information that Refined Olive Oil / Pomace Olive Oil now attarct an import duty of 7.5% and 4% Additional duty with normal tax surcharges. The Extra Vigin Olive Oil, being considered as Crude , doesnot attract any duty, means ZERO import Duty. Despite all the consumer prices are still high which prevents the consumer to buy the Olive Oils. The one solution is to Bring The Olive Oils in Bulk Packing and repack the same here in bottles, though One might loose the Image as Indian cunsumer need conviction that the Local bottled Olive Oil is as pure as The botlle from the counter part from Spain or Italy. This can increase the consumption for Olive Oils as What i see that prices of olive oils must be euqal to Pure Ghee/ Clarified butter if not less to attract mode consumers towards the healthy oil and fats.
